January 20th 2017 KAL Days 1 & 2 with Photo

Well, it is another year and my feelings for 2017 is “hopeful” but apprehensive as well.  This is our first KAL for the year.  It is a pattern stitch.

Here is our first cloth of 2017.  Hope everyone has a healthy and safe 2017.

January 20th 2017 KAL Day 1:
Our recommended color is Gold (I used a soft pink-berry color because I misplaced my gold) but any solid color you like is fine.  I haven’t sent any new colors out for 2017 besides the one’s already given earlier in 2016 because mainly any color will work with our KAL’s especially solid colors.
What I do have so far on colors in February: Pink for the 1st and Pale Pink or Yellow for the 20th. Remember that February is the month of “love”. Solids turn out better on this type of KAL.  Day 1 and day 2 will be posted on our blog tomorrow.  You will have a photo tomorrow on our blog of the rows after day 1.
Everyday rows will be sent via an email; I will be "Replying" to the first email so all of the rows will be on one email at the end of the KAL.  If you are a "Special Notice" member, you will need to get your rows for day 2 through fin al from our blog or checking our site for the "updated" emails. Yahoo doesn't provide for "reply" messages to be sent to the Special Notice members.
If you need help, check
How to Knit | KnittingHelp.com for any assistance or write an email to the group for help.  For day 1 and day 2 of rows, I will post photos.
Using Lifelines will help with any project. If you aren't sure what that is, there is plenty of info on the Internet about it but it is basically where you put thread or thin yarn through a row already worked, designating that all the rows to that point are error free. You should document what row you put the lifeline in so you have a point of reference. If you make any error after that point, you know you are OK with the previous rows anyway.
This KAL is a Pattern cloth.
Materials:  Cotton Yarn (1 skein). I used Knit Picks Comfy yarn in the color “Lady Slipper”, #6 US Needles.
Note:  P3Tog = Purl 3 stitches together. For assistance with the procedure K1, YO, K1 in same stitch go to www.knittinghelp.com or google “knitting stitches” and it will give you several options but it is pretty easy to follow.
Cast on:  Multiple of 4 + Border (32+6=38)
Border:
Rows 1-4:  Knit across.

Pattern:
Row 1:       K3, (*K1, YO, K1 in same stitch), P3Tog; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 2:       K3, *K1, P3; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 3:       K3, *K3, P1; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 4:       K3, *P1, K3; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 5:       K3, *P3Tog, (K1, YO, K1 in same stitch); repeat from * and end K3.
Row 6:       K3, *P3, K1; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 7:       K3, *P1, K3; repeat from * and end K3.
Row 8:       K3, *K3, P1; repeat from * and end K3.
