April 16th 2015 KAL Day 6 FINAL

Here are the rest of the rows.  I will post the pattern along with the photo on our website site later this week.

Row 51: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 52: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 53: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 54: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3

This should reach your desired length but if you want to make it a little bigger, repeat rows 51-54 one more time. (Your last row should be a “Purl” row)

Then knit 4 rows with color 2…or knit 2 rows (I knitted 4 rows to give it more of a border.)

bind off.

April 16th 2015 Day 1 & 2 and photo

Here are the first 2 days of our KAL:

Materials:  2 skeins cotton yarn, One light color, one dark color. You can also use a variegated color and a contrast color.  I am using Pink (Color 2)  and Purple (Color 1)

This is a stitch cloth

Notes:
PW=Purl Wise
W/YIF=With yarn in front
W/YIB=With yarn in back
Sl=Slip

Using two colors is very easy, the 2nd color just runs along side the item.  You don't to cut the yarn it just progresses up the cloth.

Cast On:  35 Stitches

Border:

Knit 2 rows (Color 2)
Row 1: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 2: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Start row 3 with Color 2, dropping color 1 and let it run along the side of the row.
Row 3: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 4: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8

Pick up Color 1 and drop Color 2, letting the other color follow along the side of the row. Follow this process when changing colors.

Row 5: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 6: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Row 7: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 8: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8

Day 2
Row 9: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 10: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Row 11: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 12: (Color 2) K3, *K5, W/YIF, Sl 1 (PW), W/YIB *; Repeat between *'s, end K8
Row 13: (Color 1) K5, *Sl 1 (PW), K5*; Repeat between *'s, end Sl 1, K5
Row 14: (Color 1) K3, Purl across row, slipping the previous Slip Stitches on to the right needle (PW), K3
Row 15: (Color 2) K3, *K5, Sl 1 (PW) *; Repeat between *'s, end K8

April 1st KAL Day 3 and FINAL pLUS Photo

Here is the rest of the KAL. We can end it this way because it is a “repeat” design and that is how these need to be done so there isn’t confustion over row numbers.  I recommend to finish the set of rows 4 times.  However, everyone has different tension and different ideas about the length of the cloth so I would also tell you to complete “to desired length”.  If you feel it necessary to just do 6 rows on the last repeat, you can do too.  Just work rows 1-6 and then finish off by knitting 4 rows and binding off.

I will post this same message on our blog with a photo of the cloth after day 3.

This was designed by me and I have 2 versions of this cloth but this one is called Lacy Scallop Cloth. Hope you like it.

Row 1:  K6, *YO K2, SKP, K2Tog, K2, YO K1* Repeat between *’s end with K4.
