1 skein of solid color or pastel ombre.
Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles

 Notes:  SSK:   Slip 1, Slip 1, Knit 2 Together
             YO:     Yarn Over
             K2Tog:  Knit 2 together

Instructions:
Cast on 41 stitches.

K4 in the beginning and end of each row signifies the border stitches.

Oct 1st 2014 KAL Days 1-2 with photo

Here is day one and two with a photo of the cloth after day one.

Hi Knitters!
 well, I'm eager to get this KAL started - so am sending out your rows tonight, so you don't have to wait til *next month*  LOL!!!
~ Before you start, a few reminders:
  * Changing colors - since you will be alternating between two colors for entire length of this project- be sure to put your unused yarn behind, & carry up the side edge
  * Suggestion:   If you print off each day's rows, you can color code them before you start to knit them; I use a hi-liter or colored pencils - [ I am one who needs a visual reminder so I change colors!! ]
   * Supplies:
- size 6 knitting needles
- 2 skeins yarn:  1 skein black, 1 skein red
Okay - let's get started! 

Cast on 36 sts with RED
Border:   Knit [RED] 4 rows
